What is Batt Insulation?
Batt insulation is typically made from fiberglass and recycled glass, though there are versions made of mineral wool such as Roxul and Comforbatt and come in different R-Values such as R20, R22, R24, depending on where they are being installed. Batt insulation is considered to be an inexpensive insulation option and is specifically designed to fit into standard widths of wall studs, floor joists, or attic rafters. They are typically stored in rolls and manufactured in various sizes and thicknesses for easy transport, handling, and installation, making it the popular choice for most insulation contractors and homeowners.

Insulation installers can install the product relatively quickly because they are available in rolls and custom pre-cut panels. Types of Batt Insulation Konstruction Uses
The two most popular types of batt insulation are Roxul mineral wool and Pink fiberglass. Comparing all properties to its counterpart, Roxul is a better fire-retarding batt insulation. Roxul batt insulation is perfect if you want to take extra precautions to protect your home from fire spreading quickly while still performing at the same R-Value.
Similarly, we also use Comforbatt—another type of batt insulation that is commonly used in wood and steel-framed homes. Comforbatt contains a lesser R-Value but is more flexible and less dense compared to standard rolled batts, making it suited to be installed between walls, attics, and joists. Usually, it is combined together with standard batt insulation.
